Anal Fistula is a tunnel which connects Anus to the outer surrounding skins.

Anal fistula can cause Pus discharge from such tunnel.Sometimes patient will have pain and swelling around anal region. Most of the times anal fistula gets infected and presents as a peri anal abscess. Majority of the times anal fistula occurs due to repeated anal region infection

DIAGNOSIS

Diagnosis of Anal Fistula can be done by digital rectal examination and Anoscope. During the examination doctor will assess Fistula tunnel and its depth. Physical examination also helps in assessing the direction of fistula tunnel. For diagnostic accuracy and better diagnosis doctor may advise for MRI scan or USG scan.

TREATMENT
